Henna Designs By Katie and Amber -

Our daughters Katie and Amber have been interested in Mehndi and henna-artistry since they were young. Far from old at this point (14 and 12 yrs. respectively), they began to experiment with the art several years ago. Having had the opportunity to study with Catherine Cartwright-Jones (a.k.a. "The Reverend Bunny" of The Tap Dancing Lizard), the girls received the best in instruction and encouragement from one of the finest Henna Artisans in the world. From their beginnings using each-other (and anyone who had a patch of bare skin and would sit still long enough!) as "guinea-pigs" for their own simple patterns, to the present where they now create complicated designs, they continue to impress people with their imagination and skill. Touch The Earth is proud to offer this, their first significant body of work on drum heads, to the public.
Several hours of effort are required to complete one of these designs, not including the time spent in planning their work nor the countless hours of practicing their craft. You can now be the proud owner of one of their pieces and pat yourself on the back when their future work brings hundreds of dollars each!!

Uzbek Doyre- The same fine instrument offered above, this drum is absolutely playable and beautiful as well. Embellished with delicte floral patterns as well as verse by Omar Khayyam.

Price: $155.00

Pakistani Daff or Daira - With Arabic script decorating the center of the drum translating as "My Dear Beauty", the balance of symmetrical border and freehand floral design shows that this drum was appropriately named.

Price: $65.00

Omar Khayyam Daff- Verse from The Rubaiyat graces the center of this well-balanced drum with florals and knot-work decorating the border.

Price: $65.00
